Membership Details

The IRF is comprised of National Governing Bodies working collectively to advance the sport and put it on track for Olympic inclusion. There are two levels of membership - Full Member or Provisional Member.

Full Member

A Full Member is a roundnet association that is the governing body for roundnet within a country. There can only be one Full Member per country. 

To become a Full Member and/or remain in good standing, a roundnet association must meet all of the criteria and be approved by IRF’s Board of Directors. If an incumbent Full Member fails to continue to meet the membership criteria, their membership may be revoked by the IRF’s Board of Directors. 

To become a Full Member, associations need to fulfill these criteria: 

  • Be a non-profit organization with bylaws acceptable to IRF and at least two years of existence (in cases where pre-existing organizations’ leadership merge, collaborate, or restructure to meet IRF guidelines, previous organizational experience and activity will be taken into account);

  • Operate under the rules, policies and programs which are in compliance with all agreements to which IRF is a party; 

  • Be open to participation without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, politics, sex, or sexual orientation; 

  • Represent a minimum of 100 individual roundnet players who are active in its organization (active players = annual paid individuals at sanctioned events + annual paid members); 

  • Hold an annual meeting and/or have another representative mechanism for its Constituents to elect a board of directors; 

  • Fairly represent the interests of Constituents for roundnet within the country; 

  • To make every effort to participate in World Championships organized by the IRF; 

  • Maintain active participation and collaboration within the IRF;

  • Maintain a website and owned domain for organization;

  • To pay annual membership fee (as approved by the General Assembly and waived through 2021).

As a Full Member, associations have the ability to:

  • Participate and present at IRF global forums on sport development, as well as all member meetings;

  • Lead advisory boards, commissions, and task forces aimed at addressing the goals of the IRF and member NGBs;

  • Nominate candidates to committees with corporate authority, including event scheduling, rules, and format committees;

  • Host major IRF events, including World Championships;

  • Have select hosted events count toward international ranking system;

  • Have eligible events included on IRF’s global event calendar

  • Participate in International Championships and select National team representatives;

  • Receive full member discounts negotiated through the IRF;

  • Be given preference for grants and sponsorships for initiatives that support IRF objectives;

  • Use IRF member badge on website and marketing materials.

 

Provisional Member

A Provisional Member is a roundnet association that is the governing body for roundnet within a country that have not met all of the criteria of a Full Member. To become a Provisional Member and/or remain in good standing, a roundnet association must meet all of the criteria and be approved by IRF’s Board of Directors. If an incumbent National Member fails to continue to meet the membership criteria, their membership may be revoked by the IRF’s Board of Directors. 

To become a Provisional Member, associations need to fulfill these criteria: 

  • Be pursuing non-profit status with bylaws acceptable to IRF and at least one year of existence (in cases where pre-existing organizations’ leadership merge, collaborate, or restructure to meet IRF guidelines, previous organizational experience and activity will be taken into account);

  • Be open to participation without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, politics, sex or sexual orientation; 

  • Represent a minimum of 50 individual roundnet players who are active in its organization (active players = annual paid individuals at sanctioned events + annual paid members); 

  • Operate under the rules, policies and programs, which are in compliance with all agreements to which IRF is a party; 

  • Fairly represent the interests of Constituents for roundnet within the country; 

  • To make every effort to participate in World championships organized by the IRF;

  • Maintain active participation and collaboration within the IRF;

  • Maintain a website and owned domain for organization;

  • To pay annual membership fee (as approved by the General Assembly and waived through 2021).

Pending Member

A Pending Member is a roundnet association that is working to establish themselves as the governing body for roundnet within a country that have not met all of the criteria of a Provisional Member. To become a Pending Member and/or remain in good standing, a roundnet association must meet all of the criteria and be approved by IRF’s Board of Directors. If an incumbent National Member fails to continue to meet the membership criteria, their membership may be revoked by the IRF’s Board of Directors. A Pending Member has one year from being granted status to meet the qualifications of a Provisional Member.

To become a Pending Member, associations need to fulfill these criteria: 

  • Be committed to pursuing non-profit status with bylaws acceptable to IRF and at least one year of existence;

  • Be open to participation without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, politics, sex or sexual orientation; 

  • Represent a minimum of 25 individual roundnet players who are active in its organization (active players = annual paid individuals at sanctioned events + annual paid members); 

  • Operate under the rules, policies and programs, which are in compliance with all agreements to which IRF is a party; 

  • Fairly represent the interests of Constituents for roundnet within the country; 

  • To make every effort to participate in World championships organized by the IRF;

  • Maintain active participation and collaboration within the IRF;

  • Maintain a website and owned domain for organization;

  • To pay annual membership fee (as approved by the General Assembly and waived through 2021).
